Archery Bow Hunting Camera Test 24yds 3x zoom (Sony)
ATTENTION BOW HUNTERS!!! – FINALLY YOU CAN SHOOT HIGH DEFINITION QUALITY RESOLUTION VIDEOS WITH YOUR COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERA MOUNTED ON YOUR BOW. This video clip was shot with the Sony DSC-W290 ultracompact digital camera 3 hrs before sunset, mounted on a 12 yr old Darton Pioneer compound bow. During my research I found that there are 5 compact digital cameras that are suitable to mount on your bow. All of them shoot High Definition Video. Each has their pros and cons. Sony DSC-W290, Canon Powershot SD780IS & SD970IS, Samsung SL820, Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. Do your research online at: amazon.com, dpreview.com, cnet.com. Things to think about with the following cameras: Sony dsc-w290 (must pre zoom before shooting video – no zooming while recording) Canon powershot SD970IS (can zoom while recording video but the camera mechanics are noticeably noisy) Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 (can zoom while recording video, its the highest price of the cameras discussed, and its about 25% heavier in weight) Samsung SL820 (can zoom while recording video but the sound cuts out) Canon Powershot SD780IS (smallest and least expensive of the bunch – can zoom while recording video – video files MOV tend to be larger size and need more storage space) There are several bow camera mounts available on the internet just search them on utube and google. Hope this info helps you fellas out. Good luck hunting this year and don’t forget to post your videos on utube.
